Minutes of Special Commissioners Meeting - October 19, 2006
Prior to the opening of the Special Meeting, Mr. Groon led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The Special Meeting of the Board of
Commissioners, Borough of Wildwood Crest,
Gould - Cabrera – Groon – Yes
Mr. Groon read the following statement: In compliance with the Open Public Meeting Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975, the notice requirements have been satisfied as to the time, place and date of holding said Special Meeting by posting notice on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall and by mailing and FAX transmitting same to the Gazette-Leader and The Press on October 17, 2006 at 9:30 a.m.
Mr. Groon next announced the one-way in and the one-way out method of ingress and egress in case of emergency.
The Clerk indicated that the purpose for this Special Meeting was to consider adoption of a resolution to enable participation in the State’s long-term care insurance plan, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 198, P.L. 2005, by both active and retired employees, the costs of which are to be borne in total by said employees and that these costs are non-negotiable by any bargaining unit. The Clerk also indicated that presently there were no cost estimates available. Additionally, he indicated that the current program will be administered through Prudential Insurance Company.
THE CLERK THEN READ THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION BY TITLE ONLY:
RESOLUTION NO. 363-06
(Authorizing participation in the State’s Long-Term Care Insurance Plan in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 198, P.L. 2005, for both active and retired employees, the cost to be borne by said employees)
Mrs. Gould motioned, seconded by Mr. Groon, that the foregoing Resolution be adopted.
The Clerk then indicated that no other business, discussion or public comments would be permitted except specifically with respect to the matter listed above due to the limitations imposed by the notice authorizing the special meeting pursuant to the full provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act.
There being no public comments as none were present, Mr. Groon motioned, seconded by Mr. Cabrera, that the meeting be adjourned.
