Minutes of Special Commissioners Meeting - February 17, 2017
Prior to the opening of the Special Meeting, Mr. Groon led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, Borough of Wildwood Crest, Cape May County, New Jersey, was held in the Municipal Court Room at 9:30 a.m. On roll call, the following answered to their names:
Gould – Cabrera – Groon - Yes
Mr. Groon read the following statement: In compliance with the Open Public Meeting Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975, the notice requirements have been satisfied as to the time, place and date of holding said SPECIAL meeting by posting notice on the bulletin board in the Borough Hall and by mailing and EMAILING same to the Gazette-Leader, the Herald and The Press on February 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.
Mr. Groon next announced the one-way in and the one-way out method of ingress and egress in case of emergency.
It was noted that no other business, discussion, or public comments will be permitted at this time, except specifically with respect to the item listed above, due to the limitations imposed on this meeting by the notice authorizing same pursuant to the full provisions of the open public meetings act.
THE CLERK READ THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION BY TITLE:
RESOLUTION No. 911-17
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Wildwood Crest, in the County of Cape May, New Jersey, that the Borough Clerk be and she is hereby authorized, instructed and empowered to advertise Notice to Bidders in The Press of Atlantic City issue of February 21, 2017.
Sealed bids will be received by the Bid Opening Committee in the Municipal Court Room, Wildwood Crest Borough Hall, on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, for furnishing the items hereinafter set forth in accordance with the Specifications on file in the Borough Hall. Said items are as follows:

Mrs. Gould motioned, seconded by Mr. Cabrera, that the resolution be adopted.
Vote: Gould - Cabrera – Groon Yes
The floor was then opened up for public commentary. Dennis Travascio, 112 E. Louisville Avenue, inquired about the timeline of the project. The Borough Administrator then pointed out that the Notice to Bidders will appear in the Press of Atlantic City on Tuesday, February 21st, and Receipt of Bids will take place on March 6th in the Court Room at 10:00 and Award of Contract on March 13th via Special Meeting. She further indicated that the project should be complete by end of June. Mr. Travascio then inquired why it took so long and the Mayor indicated that South Jersey Gas had to finish work, the Borough had a new Engineer in place, there were extra permits and financing that was needed and ADA ramps weren’t complete. Commissioner Cabrera added that they met with the new Engineer to ensure traveling North – South would still be available. Our Borough Administrator then added that complete demobilization of the project would happen over Memorial Day Weekend and resume after.
Hearing nothing further from the public, Mrs. Gould motioned, seconded by Mr. Cabrera that the meeting be adjourned. All were in favor. The time was 9:37 a.m.
